A wonderful family in Carlsbad is seeking a temporary Summer Nanny to provide engaging childcare for two young children during the summer months.

The ideal candidate is creative, energetic, and genuinely enjoys spending time with 5 and 6-aged children. This position focuses entirely on childcare and creating fun, enriching experiences. Household responsibilities are minimal, allowing the nanny to devote their attention to the children's daily activities and well-being.

A background in early childhood education, camps, teaching, or recreational programming would be a wonderful fit.

Schedule & Hours

• Temporary position

• Approximately 20–30 hours per week

• Schedule to be coordinated with the family

Responsibilities

Childcare

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for two children, ages 5 and 6.

• Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities throughout the day.

• Encourage creativity through arts and crafts, imaginative play, and hands-on projects.

• Supervise outdoor play and recreational activities.

• Foster a fun, positive, and safe environment.

• Promote kindness, independence, and confidence through interactive play.

Activity Planning

• Organize creative art projects and educational games.

• Plan outdoor adventures such as parks, nature walks, and backyard activities.

• Read books, play games, and encourage learning through play.

• Keep the children active, engaged, and entertained throughout the day.

• Previous experience caring for young children.

• Experience as a nanny, camp counselor, teacher, childcare provider, or similar role preferred.

• Warm, patient, and energetic personality.

• Creative and enthusiastic about planning activities.

• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

• Excellent communication skills.

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

• Advanced third-party background check required (paid by the client).
